DECK SEALING PROCESS FROM QUALITY TOUCH PAINTING

RELAX. LET US TAKE CARE OF YOUR DECK IMPROVEMENTS!

Wash Process

Washing wood deck surfaces includes the following steps:

SETUP:

We begin by protecting the working area including any structures and/or surrounding landscaping.

WASH:

A qualified Deck Tech Technician professionally power-washes the wood surface. Depending on the wood type the technician determines and regulates the required water pressure.

CLEAN:

A commercial grade biodegradable cleaner is applied and rinsed from the wood surface in preparation for the sealing process.

COMPLETION:

Upon completion, the surrounding work area is rinsed off

Sealing Process

To conduct the sealing process of wood decks (our final process) a crew of 3-4 qualified Deck Tech Technicians will return to the job site and perform the following steps:

SETUP:

We begin by protecting the working area including any structures and/or surrounding landscaping.

STRUCTURE PREP:

A technician checks for any protruding nails and any bad boards.

SAND:

The deck is given a sanding on the all deck areas with 3 different pads (e.i. floors, pickets, top rails, seated areas of the deck, etc.). if included on the estimate.

SEAL:

Once the previous steps have been completed your deck is sealed with DT-1000 wood preservative. Our Technician carefully applies our preservative and confirms that all wood surfaces have proper saturation by brushing and rolling the sealant onto the wood surface. This ensures those areas are protected. Any excess stain is removed by the use of a natural lamb-wool applicator, whereby promoting proper distribution and drying.

CLEANUP:

In this final step, we clean up the job site and leave you with a beautiful restored wood finish.
The following items are not covered by this limited warranty:

  • New decks (i.e., those generally less than 6 months old), as new wood needs to be conditioned prior to the application of any product;
  • Damage to wood surfaces, stains or sealants caused by cleaning products, wood brighteners, chemicals, ice-melting salts, pressure washing, friction, furniture, grills, equipment, planters, decorations and other items, animal secretions, traffic patterns, dirt build-up, or ordinary wear and tear;
  • Fading, discoloring or unevenness of wood surfaces, stains or sealants; and
  • Acts of nature (e.g., hail, flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes), fire, war, acts of terrorism, hostilities, and other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Deck Tech.
